IvyWise Live: The Future of Standardized Testing
Painstakingly studying for and taking the SAT or ACT has traditionally been a major part of an international student’s American university application strategy for decades. However, COVID-19 has accelerated dramatic changes to standardized testing across the board. In addition to approximately 72% of American universities adopting test-optional policies this year, the College Board recently announced that it is discontinuing the SAT Subject Test and SAT Essay, while simultaneously investing in a more flexible SAT. Meanwhile, even if a university is operating under a test-optional or test-blind policy, the majority do still require that international students submit test scores such as the TOEFL or IELTS to evaluate their proficiency in the English language. Join members of IvyWise's expert team of former admissions officers to learn what this news means for American university admissions and hear tips on how to adapt your testing and application strategy to demonstrate your personal strengths in your applications. There will be a Q&A session following the presentation, allowing attendees to have their questions answered directly by IvyWise experts.
